WESTPORT, Conn. – Dressed to impress, students all across Westport got up early Tuesday morning for the first day of the new school year.

Staples High School seniors Sylvie Lexow, Emily Ressler, Kelly Gore, Amanda Horowitz and Cara McNiff looked more than ready for their first day, donning big smiles, bright pink “Senior Girls” t-shirts and other accessories.

Sisters Emma and Abby Straight, sporting colorful new backpacks, also looked excited to get back to class and meet up with friends. Emma started seventh-grade at Bedford Middle School and Abby, sixth-grade.
