Jbhs Throwing an Open House

Parents check up on how their kids are doing Wednesday at Joel Barlow High School's Annual Open House. Teachers will fill parents in on what students are learning and how well they're progressing.

"The faculty and I look forward to sharing our goals and course expectations with you," Principal Tom McMorran wrote in a letter to families. The open house begins at 7 p.m. Parents should report to their child's first-period classroom. After opening remarks from McMorran over the loudspeaker, parents can go to all classes on their child's schedule. Teachers will provide contact information so parents can find out more about their child's attendance and performance.

There will be refreshments and tables for various organizations.

All visitors are asked to park in the front or rear of the school, and police officers will help direct traffic. McMorran expects a heavy turnout of parents and suggests arriving 15 to 20 minutes early.
