Heat Closing Schools Early In Redding, Easton

 

REDDING, Conn. - Redding Elementary School will close at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, and John Read Middle School will close at 1:30 p.m. due to heat expected to hit the mid- to high-90s Thursday. Lunch will be served at both schools.

No changes were needed at Joel Barlow High School, which closes early due to the final exams.

In Easton, Helen Keller Middle School will close at 12:40 p.m., Thursday, and Samuel Staples Elementary School will close at 1:25 p.m.

The announcement was made Wednesday morning and emailed to parents.
