Easton's Middle School Dismisses at Noon

Helen Keller Middle School in Easton will dismiss at noon today. 

"I have been working with the building principals and custodians to monitor temperatures in the schools. Due to unusually high temperatures in several classrooms, students will be dismissed earlyat three of our five schools. Joel Barlow High School and Samuel Staples Elementary School will remain open for the full day since most or all of the classrooms in those buildings are air conditioned," Michael Cicchetti, superintendent of schools, said in an email Thursday. 

John Read Middle School in Redding will dismiss at 1 p.m., and Redding Elementary School will dismiss at noon.

Concerts planned for John Read Middle School and Helen Keller Middle School for Thursday evening will still take place because they are being held at schools with air conditioning. John Read's concert is at Joel Barlow, and the middle school concert is at Samuel Staples Elementary School.
