Easton Kids Find AC After Early Dismissal

Max Scialpi, Scott Howard and Amanda Olsavsky retreated to the air-conditioned Easton Community Center after their school was let out early Thursday because of the excessive heat.

"I couldn't pay attention — it was so hot," said Scott. All three kids are seventh grade students at Helen Keller Middle School.  "Everyone was complaining. We couldn't even hear our teacher," said Amanda.

Max said one of his teachers allowed the students to go to the media center — one of the only rooms in the building that has air conditioning. The other air-conditioned rooms include the lunch room, offices and the Project Lead the Way room.

When they heard about the early dismissal at about 10 a.m. the kids said they threw their arms in the air and yelled, "Yes!"
