Barlow Employee Suspended for Alleged Misconduct

REDDING, Conn. – A staff member at Joel Barlow High School has been suspended for allegedly conducting “an inappropriate relationship with a student,” according to Redding Police Chief Douglas S. Fuchs.

Fuchs said the police department is working closely with the Region 9 Superintendent’s office. Bernard Josefsberg, the superintendent, said a non-certified employee, not a teacher, is under investigation, but he declined to identify the employee or the student, who filed a complaint with the state Department of Children and Families.

“No details are being released regarding the student or the staff member, and no further details are available, as this is an ongoing investigation,” Fuchs said.
