Movoto analyzed median home value, gross rent, and monthly homeowner costs for over 28,000 ZIP codes to come up with its list of the most expensive ZIP codes.

Weston, and its ZIP code of 06883, earned its No. 6 spot with a median home value of $906,900. The town also had the highest median rent and the highest median homeowner costs.

Nearby Greenwich, in its 06878 ZIP code area, came in just behind Weston at No. 7.

If there is a silver lining to be found, it's that Weston is a relative bargain compared with Palos Verdes Peninsula in California, which took home the top spot in both home value at over $1 million and rent price.

California ZIP codes held the top three spots and six out of the Top 10 on the list:

  1. Palos Verdes Peninsula, Calif.
  2. Danville, Calif.
  3. Villa Park, Calif.
  4. Saddle River, N.J.
  5. Duarte, Calif.
  6. Weston, Conn.
  7. Greenwich, Conn.
  8. Alpine, N.J.
  9. Santa Barbara, Calif.
  10. San Jose, Calif.
