The Saugatuck Station Area TOD Master Plan will focus on improvements that benefit local residents, commuters and businesses.

“Many Westporters worked hard to secure this grant,” said State Rep. Jonathan Steinberg (D-Westport). “Now we have to assure that these TOD planning funds are applied in a way consistent with Saugatuck's village character. I look forward to an engaging dialogue on how we will best serve Saugatuck's and Westport's interests.”

The TOD grant is one of 20 announced by the Malloy administration, totaling nearly $11 million.

Upgrades and expansion of TOD areas are expected to encourage economic development without mismanaged sprawl. Improvements to transportation reduces traffic congestion and harmful emissions.
