"One Small State, One Big Voice" will include addresses by U.S. Sens. Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy, and U.S. Rep. Jim Himes. The event is organized by the Westport Democratic Town Committee and DefenDemocracy, a grassroots organization founded by Westport women.

The march will celebrate Connecticut's history of activism, and hopes to gather people from across Fairfield County to "illuminate issues that compromise our democratic institutions, from healthcare to immigration to environmental protection to freedom of the press," the DTC wrote in its event announcement.

The march will start at noon at Jesup Green, next to the lower parking lot of the library, and end at Veteran's Green in front of Westport Town Hall. The event will be held rain or shine, and all are welcome to bring their voices.

Police have issued a traffic advisory that the marchers will be walking east on Post Road and turning onto Myrtle Avenue. Expect traffic delays on Post Road East and use caution around pedestrians.
