Weston's Republican Candidates Set For League Of Women Voters’ Debate

WESTON, Conn. – The Weston League of Women Voters is hosting a debate starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Weston Pubic Library, featuring the Republican candidates for the Board of Selectmen, Board of Finance and Board of Education in Weston.

The selectmen’s debate is first, beginning at 10 a.m., followed by the Board of Finance debate at 11:15 a.m. After a short lunch provided by the League, the Board of Education debate will begin at 12:30 p.m.

First selectman candidate Nina Daniel is looking forward to showcasing her candidacy and running mate Dennis Tracey. 

“Dennis Tracey and I offer leadership that is collaborative and respectful," she said. "We are committed to maintaining the excellence and safety of our schools, helping seniors to remain in our community, protecting the rural character of our town, and pursuing strategies that will lower the burden on families of debt and high taxation.” 

Republican candidate for the Board of Finance, Bob Ferguson, said, “I look forward to answering questions from the voters regarding the budget, taxes, the proposed town building project and the bare majority rule on the Board of Finance.” 

The three Republican candidates for Board of Education, Ellen Uzenoff, incumbent, Dan O’Neill, incumbent, and Jacqueline Kim Blechinger will also be participating.
