The Board of Selectmen will appoint the members for initial two-year terms, then decide whether to continue having the committee.
Duties of committee members will include conducting surveys and research, holding public meetings, and hosting discussion groups.
The co-chairs of the strategic planning committee will be a selectman and a member of the planning and zoning commission.
People interested in joining the committee are asked to email Randi Derene.
Applicants should include why they want to join the strategic planning committee, explain their professional background, and also include their political party affiliation.
The political party affiliation is necessary “in order to meet our charter requirement of a bare majority,” Weston town officials wrote in a press release.
