The big race in town is for the state Senate, where in the hotly contested District 28, Democrat Kim Fawcett is running against Republican Tony Hwang.
The Senate seat is open because longtime Sen. John McKinney is not running for re-election. The district also includes parts of Fairfield, Easton, Newtown and Westport.
The race in Easton for state representative for state House District 135 is much quieter and is already settled. John Shaban, a Republican, is running unopposed for re-election in the district, which also includes parts of Weston and Redding.
Also on the ballot, Republican T.R. Rowe is running for re-election as probate judge with a challenge from Republican Matthew Reale.
Democrat David Maulsby Smith and Republican Krista Kot are running unopposed for registrar of voters in their respective parties for the town of Easton.
For the U.S. House of Representatives, Democrat incumbent Jim Himes is facing a challenge from Republican Dan Debicella in the 4th District, which stretches across much of Fairfield County.
In the race for governor, Weston residents will join voters statewide in choosing between incumbent Democrat Dannel Malloy and Republican challenger Tom Foley. Other statewide races include lieutenant governor, comptroller, secretary of the state, attorney general and treasurer.

Polling will be held in the Samuel Staples Elementary School Gym from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
