WESTON, Conn. Ryan and Kristen Scherb, who recently moved to Weston from New York City were among the new voters who registered at Saturdays special session at the Town Hall.
Ten new voters registered Saturday and 168 in October, Westons registrar of voters Susan Moran said.
The Scherbs requested absentee ballots because theyll be working in New York on election day. They registered as Democrats but wont necessarily vote for a straight party ticket on Nov. 6. Well do our research before we vote, Ryan Sherb said. We plan on being informed voters. Were not just voting for our party. We want to vote for the right candidates.
New voters can continue to register in Weston Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with another special session on Oct. 30 until 8 p.m. Absentee ballots are available until Nov. 3.
Voter registration forms and absentee ballot applications can be picked up at the town hall or can downloaded from the Weston town website.
Polls will be open for Weston voters from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 6 at the Weston Middle School, 135 School Road.
