Boucher, who represents the 26th District towns of Bethel, New Canaan, Redding, Ridgefield, Weston, Westport and Wilton, was chosen for this award because of her long dedication to ensuring all Connecticut students achieve their full potential, according to a statement from the group. That work started when she was on the Wilton Board of Education.

Boucher is currently the Ranking Member of the Education Committee. In 2013, she proposed a bill that would allow gifted 11th-graders to test out of their final year of high school and begin college a year early.

The award will be presented Thursday, Nov. 21, at 1 p.m. in the foyer of the Westport Town Hall, located at 110 Myrtle Ave.
