State Rep. Candidates To Debate In Weston

WESTON, Conn. - After watching the first presidential debate Wednesday night, you may be ready to turn your attention to a local debate, with the League of Women Voters of Weston sponsoring the first debate between State Rep. John Shaban (R) and Leon Karvelis (D), his challenger in the race for State House District 135, which represents Weston, Redding and Easton. Green Party candidate Gabriel Rossi also has been invited. The debate takes place Oct. 13 at 10:30 a.m. at the Weston Library. It will be moderated by LWVCT leader Jean Rabinow who will take written questions from the audience.
