Town officials thought the deadline to get questions on the ballot was 45 days before the election, which would have been Sept. 20. It turns out the deadline for questions to be placed on the ballot is 60 days before the election, or Sept. 5.

It is unknown what the town will do now. Weston could have a special election to vote on the proposed charter changes or it could wait until November 2014.
