Redding Residents Can Question Lawmakers At Gun Forum

REDDING, Conn. – Local legislators or their representatives will discuss gun control at a forum Monday night in Redding.

Saul Cornell, a professor of history at Fordham University, will be the moderator. The panel will include state Reps. John Shaban and Dan Carter, state Sen. Toni Boucher, Redding Police Chief Douglas Fuchs and representatives of U.S. Sens. Chris Murphy and Richard Blumenthal as well as U.S. Rep. Jim Himes.

"We'll discuss legislation in the wake of Newtown," Cornell said. "It's a chance for representatives to inform constituents what is happening and what should happen and give them a chance to ask questions."

Each member of the panel will make brief statements and questions will follow.

The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Redding Community Center, 37 Lonetown Road.
