The town's portion that First Selectman Jim Marpe proposed totals $91.6 million, which is above present spending by 0.8 percent, and the proposed expenditures from the Board of Education total $113.9 million, a 2.04 percent increase over the current budget plan, said the Westport News.
The proposed budget stays within Finance Board guidelines of increases of just 1 to 1.5 percent, according to the Westport News.
