Westport Volunteer EMS Offers Free Hands-Only CPR Classes

WESTPORT, Conn.-- Westport Volunteer Emergency Medical Service will be offering free hands-only CPR training sessions for the general public Aug. 29 and Sept. 20. 

There will be four hands-only CPR classes at the Westport police/EMS headquarters.

Students will learn how to perform hands-only CPR (no mouth-to-mouth) for an adult who does not show signs of life, how to use an automated external defibrillator and how to assist an adult who is choking and cannot breathe. This is not a certification class. 

There will be two classes on each date. Classes will be at 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Aug. 29 and at 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Sept. 20.

Classes will be in the training classroom of the Westport police/EMS headquarters building, 50 Jesup Road. Participants only need to attend one 30-minute session.
