On Friday, Oct. 2, the Westport Police Department received a report of a motor vehicle being operated erratically.
A license plate, description of the vehicle and direction of travel was broadcast to patrol vehicles, police said. An officer saw the vehicle and stopped it, police said.
"In speaking with the occupants it was learned that the passenger was in possession of drug paraphernalia," police said in a statement. "The passenger then reported that she was in possession of four pills that were later identified as a controlled substance."
The pills were not prescribed for the passenger, Amber Goold, 25, of Norwalk, and she had no legitimate reason for having them in her possession, police said.
Goold was charged with possession of narcotic not in the original container and possession of a controlled substance.
She was released after posting $5,000 bond and was issued a court date of Oct. 13 at Norwalk Court.
