Diana Balkun, 29, of Forest Road, was charged with possession of narcotics, second offense, and possession on drug paraphernalia, police said.
Around 5 p.m. an officer noticed Balkun sitting in the passenger seat of a black Nissan Altima at Lot 1, police said. He saw what appeared to be vomit on the pavement next to the car and decided to check on her welfare, police said.
As he approached the car, Balkun seemed “extremely nervous” and evasive, ultimately admitting she had needles and heroin in the car, police said.
The officer deployed his K-9 Koda, who alerted to a black backpack in the trunk, where the officer found a makeup pouch containing 12 small white wax baggies imprinted with the label “TIGER” and containing suspected heroin, police said.
He also found a needle and syringe, police said.
Balkun was taken back to police headquarters, where the substance tested positive for heroin, police said. She was held on $2,500 bond and is expected in court on Aug. 7.
