WESTPORT, Conn. – A 50-year-old Bridgeport man is facing multiple charges in Westport after police say he stole a woman’s purse in town and later used her credit cards.
Onnie Canady is accused of snatching the woman’s purse in March and using her credit cards to purchase items at Home Depot in Bridgeport and Auto Zone in Stratford, police said.
Canaday was arrested Saturday on a warrant. He was charged with two counts of sixth-degree larceny, credit card theft, illegal use of a credit card and misapplication of property. He was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on May 7.
