Just past midnight, an officer found Carole Sonick, 54, of Rowland Road, in her car, which was running with the brake lights engaged in the right hand lane, police said.
After several attempts, officers were able to rouse her and detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath, police. They also saw a travel mug of what appeared to be wine in the console of her car, police said.
Sonick failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. She was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol and drinking while operating a motor vehicle, police said.
She posted $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 26.
