A resident of North Avenue reported on Feb. 16 that he had hired Jeffrey Chirillo, 36, of Milford, to do work on his home, police said. Chirillo is the head of Chirillo Contracting.
The victim said that Chirillo agreed to do the work for $1,895, and that he paid Chirillo $1,365 on Oct. 2 as a deposit for the work, according to police.
Chirillo never did any work at the residence, police said. The homeowner gave him ample time to repay the deposit, but he did not, according to police. A warrant was issued for Chirillo's arrest.
This is not the first time Chirillo has been accused of accepting money for work in Westport that he never completed.
Police arrested Chirillo in February after a resident complained that he paid Chirillo more than $32,000 for work that he never started.

He was also arrested in March after police said he stole boots, a jacket and sunglasses from a home where he was working.

In this most recent case, police arrested Chirillo on Wednesday while he was appearing in court in Norwalk.
He was charged with second-degree larceny and offering to make home improvements without a registration. He was arraigned at court Wednesday.
