Weston Police: Officers Taser Reckless Driver

WESTON, Conn. – Weston police officers stunned a Bridgeport man with a Taser gun before arresting and charging him Friday night, police said.

According to police, Jaime Gonzalez, 39, of Bridgeport was driving erratically on Newtown Turnpike near Valley Forge Road at 6 p.m. and hit several vehicles, including a Redding police car, which was damaged. Police said he fled on foot and tried to fight officers before they used the Taser on him.

Police said Gonzalez was charged with two counts of second-degree assault and two counts of assault on a police officer, both felonies, one count of second-degree threatening, three counts of reckless endangerment, four counts of first-degree criminal mischief and three counts breach of peace, class A misdemeanors.

He was injured and brought to Norwalk Hospital after his arrest.
