A witness at the CVS Pharmacy at 397 Post Road E. observed Nabeel Abdallah, 21, leaving the store with "two to three boxes" of toothbrushes, according to a police report. The man got into the passenger side of a vehicle, and the driver exited through a back lot, police said. The alert witness wrote down the license plate of the vehicle. The witness also noticed that a female was driving the vehicle, police said.

Upon reviewing the video surveillance footage from the store, officers observed Abdalla taking several boxes out of the store without paying, police said. Based on the information gained from the license plate, officers determined the vehicle was registered to a Weston address, and the operator was identified as Carolina Rivera, police said. Abdallah was then identified as Rivera’s boyfriend, police said.

Officers verified that two toothbrushes were stolen, with a total value of $425.38, police said. A warrant was submitted to Norwalk Superior Court for the arrest of Abdallah and Rivera.

Westport Officers responded to the Norwalk Police Department to take Abdallah into custody on the active arrest warrant. Abdallah was transported to Westport Police Headquarters, where he was charged with sixth-degree larceny and sixth-degree conspiracy to commit larceny. He has a court date in Norwalk on Feb. 14.
