When fire officials arrived at 4:30 p.m., they discovered the two occupants were out of the vehicle and unhurt. The building was unoccupied at the time.
Crews from Westport Fire Department Rescue 3 and Engine 5 stabilized the vehicle in place and inspected the building to ensure it was not heavily damaged.
A representative from the Westport Building Department responded to the scene to assist. The vehicle was removed from the building, and the scene was turned over to the property manager to make repairs.
Westport Police were on the scene to investigate, and Westport EMS assisted. The last Fire Department unit cleared the scene at 5 p.m.
