Search Begins Off Coast Of Westport For Missing Boater From Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A search was launched Tuesday evening for a boater from Fairfield who was reported missing by his wife, according to the Connecticut Post.

According to the Post, the man had not returned from a boating trip. His car was found at Sherwood Island and Westport police tracked a cellphone from a boat that had not moved off Cockenoe Island, off the coast of Westport, the Post said.

The Coast Guard and Norwalk Police Department were called in to help with the search, the Post said.
