Police were dispatched to a restaurant on Riverside Avenue Thursday afternoon around 1 p.m. on a report of a man who had entered and caused a disturbance. The business owner told police that the man, later identified as 23-year-old Michael Hicks, had come in and was attempting to sell a cleaning product. Hicks was moving around the restaurant and spraying the cleaning product on multiples surfaces, including the grill area, police said.
The owner asked Hicks to leave multiple times, and said that he would take a business card. Hicks then began swearing at him and his workers, police said. He finally left, then threw rocks at the outside of the business, according to police.
A description of Hicks and his vehicle was broadcast out to patrol units, and he was stopped in Norwalk a short time later and taken into custody. He was charged with breach of peace and held on a $500 bond.
