Possible Human Remains Found In Search Of Weston Home

WESTON, Conn. — Two bags of possible human remains were found at a vacant house in Weston, which many be linked to the case of a couple from Easton who have been missing for nearly three months, The Hour reported.

Jeffrey and Jeanette Navin of Easton have not been seen since early August. There 27-year-old son Kyle is a person of interest in the case.

The house at 89 Norfield Road, near Weston Center, is owned by a friend of Kyle Navin, the son of Jeannette and Jeffrey Navin and a person of interest in the case, the Hour said.

State and local police as well as the FBI have been at the scene since Thursday night.

Weston Police Chief John Troxell told the Weston Forum that the property owner, Thomas Kerrigan of Westport, called police Thursday afternoon after finding “something” he thought might be human remains while doing cleanup on the unused property.

Kyle Navin is set to appear in Bridgeport Court on Friday on gun charges.

Jeannette Navin, 55, a library paraprofessional at Weston Intermediate School and her husband, Jeffrey Navin, 56, owner of J&J Refuse in Westport, were reported missing Aug. 7. They were last seen Aug. 4.

Navin, 27, operations manager of J&J Refuse, is in federal custody on a charge of possession of a firearm by a drug-addicted person. He has been described by police as a person of interest in the disappearance of his parents. The gun and drugs were found in a search of his Bridgeport home in connection with his parents' disappearance.

A federal indictment included cellphone records of texts between the father and son in which Jeffrey Navin accused Kyle Navin of killing his mother.
