Hunter Lutz, 18, of Surrey Lane, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, police said.
Around 9:30 p.m., an officer stopped Lutz’s green Honda Accord on Turkey Hill Road South because its muffler was making a loud, unusual noise and the car swerved back and forth in the road, police said.
The officer saw a 30-pack of beer on the rear seat and Lutz admitted to drinking beer and smoking marijuana, police said. He failed a field sobriety test, police said.
Lutz posted a $500 cash bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on May 10.
