Ann Otto, 70, of Sunrise Hill Lane, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol, disobeying the signal of an officer and failure to stop on right side of the road, police said.
Around 6 p.m., a Westport police officer saw a red Subaru wagon fail to pull over for the fire truck, police said. The officer tried to stop the car, but it continued southbound, exiting the parkway at Exit 41.
The driver, Otto, stopped the car and talked to the officer, who said he detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage, police said. She failed field sobriety tests and was taken to police headquarters, where a breath test showed her blood alcohol level was over the legal limit, police said.
Otto was released on a $500 non-surety bond with a court date of Aug. 7.
