Elizabeth Lopez, 29, of Myrtle Street, and Anthony Daconto, 34, of Glendale Avenue, were each charged with possession of narcotics and sale of a controlled substance, police said. They were each held on $10,000 bond and appeared in court on Tuesday, police said.
Around 2:15 a.m., a Westport officer observed a white Toyota Camry leaving the closed Shell Gas Station on Post Road East, police said. The car was traveling east and the officer saw it didn’t have a license plate light, police said.
The officer pulled over Lopez, the driver, and noticed she appeared “nervous, was breathing heavy and her hands were unsteady,” according to the report. Police also asked for identification from her passenger, DaConto.
The officer smelled marijuana in the car and a search found 98 bags of heroin in the center console, police said. Several more bags, needles and a used marijuana cigarette were found throughout the car, police said.
