WESTPORT, Conn. A 42-year-old Stamford man is accused of breaking into a former friends home in Westport and stealing money, police said.
Reynald Lespinasse was allegedly spotted walking down the stairs from the second floor of the residence by the homeowner Thursday morning, police said. The night before, the homeowner allegedly told Lespinasse not to come by the home, and left the residence to avoid contact with Lespinasse, the police report states.
After seeing Lespinasse, the homeowner went to police headquarters to report it. When officers arrived at the home, Lespinasse was gone, but officers noticed the screen on the front window had a bent frame, police said. The homeowner also reported money missing.
Lespinasse was later found at the Greens Farms train station. In addition to third-degree burglary, a felony, he was charged with sixth-degree larceny, a misdemeanor. He was held on a $5,000 bond and arraigned at Norwalk Superior Court later that day.
