Man Charged With Using Forged Prescriptions From Westport Doctor

WESTPORT, Conn. -- An Easton man was charged with forging prescriptions that appeared to be from a Westport doctor in order to obtain narcotics, according to Westport Police.

Mark Simonetti, 44, used the fake prescriptions to obtain the narcotics from a Walgreens in Bridgeport 33 different times, police said. 

Simonetti was charged with 33 counts of second-degree forgery and 33 counts of illegally obtaining a controlled substance by false title, police said. 

Simonetti was released on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to return to court on Thursday.
