On May 28 at about 1 p.m., Westport officers were called to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport on a report of a stabbing victim. Anthony Frank, 49, of Park Avenue, claimed he had been stabbed in the leg by a stranger that morning on the beach, police said.

A detective interviewed Frank and he consented to a search of his vehicle, police said. The officer found a knife with what appeared to be blood on it and determined Frank’s story was inconsistent, police said.

Frank turned himself in on a warrant Friday and was charged with second-degree falsely reporting an incident, police said. He is scheduled to appear in court in Norwalk on Sept. 12.
