On Wednesday around 11 a.m.police went to the station after a report of suspicious people trying to get into vehicles. Detectives watched the live video and were able to see the suspects on camera and direct responding officers to where the suspects were.
The first arriving units immediately located two males wearing dark clothing and watched as they attempted to gain entry into at least two different vehicles by lifting or manipulating door handles.
While the officers were investigating the incident, detectives were able to positively identify the suspects as those captured on video surveillance. A third suspect was found hiding in a vehicle that they drove to Greens Farms Station. Video surveillance also captured the suspects attempting to steal a vehicle, but retreating as officers arrived on scene.
Adelmir Oliva, 19, of the Bronx, N.Y., was charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree larceny, criminal impersonation, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, third-degree attempt to commit burglary and possession of marijuana.
Jancarlos Cabral, 20, of the Bronx, N.Y., was charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree larceny, criminal impersonation, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary and third-degree attempt to commit burglary. Both men were held on $10,000 bonds each.
The third suspect is a juvenile and was charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree larceny, criminal impersonation, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary and third-degree attempt to commit burglary. He was held in custody in Bridgeport.
