The accident occurred between exits 18 and 19 just after 5 a.m. The driver was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Norwalk Hospital.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was pinned in the cab of the truck and had to be extricated. Westport firefighters, along with the assistance of Fairfield firefighters, completed the extrication.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was transported to Norwalk Hospital for evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries.
The two right lanes were shut down for the duration of the extrication, which took until about 6:15 a.m.
The Westport Fire Department responded with one Command Car, two Engine Company’s and one Rescue.
Fairfield Fire responded with one Command Car, one Engine Company and one Ladder truck.
No firefighter injuries were reported.
