REDDING, Conn. No residents were home during a house fire in Redding that was handled by roughly nine fire trucks Sunday evening, according to fire officials.
A Bethel firefighter at the scene confirmed the blaze at 67 Old Stage Coach Road was put out around 7 p.m. A crew from Redding remained on scene as of 8 p.m. to ensure the situation was under control.
According to Redding Volunteer Fire Capt. Brad Carlson, the fire was confined to one of the home's front living rooms.
He said no one was in the house at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. However, he said the one-story home is unlivable due to smoke and water damage.
The cause of the fire is undetermined until the fire marshal concludes an investigation, Carlson said.
Fire officials from Redding, West Redding, Bethel and Georgetown responded to help extinguish the blaze. Neighbors told The Weston Daily Voice that the trucks did not go down the driveway of the Redding home.
A tanker from the Redding Fire Department and trucks from Georgetown left the scene around 7 p.m.
