Fairfield Man Faces Drug Charges In Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. – A 20-year-old Fairfield man was arrested in Westport and charged with possession and sale of marijuana Wednesday after he was pulled over for motor vehicle violations, police said.

Blake Haehl, of Horseshoe Lane, was stopped on Post Road East for having darkly tinted windows and a busted brake light, police said. When the officer approached the car, he smelled marijuana coming from inside, the police report said.

Haehl told the officer there was a marijuana bong inside the car, the report said. A subsequent search of the car turned up a scale, baggies containing marijuana and other drug paraphernalia commonly used with marijuana, police said.

Haehl was charged with sale of a controlled substance, a felony. He was also charged with possession of less than 4 ounces of marijuana and use of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.

He was released after posting a $5000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on May 17.
