Bogus DEA Agent Reportedly Trying To Scam Weston Residents

WESTON, Conn. -- Weston police have been receiving complaints of a scam in which a man claiming to be a DEA agent calling residents and telling them they have been involved in the illegal sale and delivery of prescription drugs over the Internet, according to a Patch report.

Weston police are warning residents of a phone scam where the suspect is posing as a DEA agent.

The agent informs the resident that if they do not pay a fine in a wire transfer, they will be arrested, the report read.

Police encourage residents to hang up on scam calls and to report them to police.
