WESTON, Conn. -- Two men and a 16-year-old are facing charges after they were surprised by a Weston resident who arrived home to find them in his residence around 1 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

After a search of nearby woods, Weston police arrested Francis Tarik, 18, of Platt Street, Bridgeport, and Leequaje Jackson, 20, of Manhattan Ave., Bridgeport. A 16-year-old was also arrested, but his name wasn't released due to his age, Weston police said Thursday.

They were charged with home invasion, third-degree burglary, and third-degree larceny. They were scheduled to appear in court Thursday.

The homeowner called 911 after he surprised the three men in his Hidden Spring Drive home, police said. The suspects then fled on foot, traveling west as toward Singing Oaks Drive after they abandoned their vehicle in the driveway, police said.

The homeowner provided a description of the suspects. Weston police officers responded to the scene and an immediate call for assistance was dispatched.

Officers from the Wilton, Redding, Westport, Easton and Fairfield Police Departments arrived within minutes, and the area was surrounded.

After two of the suspects were spotted in a wooded area near Newtown Turnpike and Grindstone Hill Road, a foot pursuit ensued, police said. The two men were subsequently apprehended by the officers on Ladder Hill Road North, police said.

A third suspect was spotted in the woods behind a house on Singing Oaks Drive, police said. Officers chased him through the woods, where he was also apprehended, police said.

A stolen car recovered at the scene was believed to have been used by the suspects, police said.

The Connecticut State Police Major Crime Unit was called to the scene to assist the Weston Investigators process the crime scene.

Police say Leequaje Jackson was arrested in April 2015 by Bridgeport police on charges of robbery, reckless endangerment, carrying dangerous weapons, and carrying a pistol without a permit. Francis Tarik was arrested earlier this month by Bridgeport police on a charge of second-degree larceny. The juvenile also has a history of committing crimes, according to police.

After his arrest, the juvenile was transported to Juvenile Detention in Bridgeport. Tarik and Jackson were transported to the Weston Police Department and held on $150,000 bond each.
