Ying Ming Wang Chiang, 99, Of Weston, Retired English Teacher

WESTON, Conn. - Ying Ming Wang Chiang of Weston died Thursday, Oct. 17. She was 99.

Chiang was born in Beijing, China, in July 1914, to Wang Jin Fang. She spent her early years in China, receiving her bachelor’s degree in nutrition from Yenching University. She was married to Robert Hochi Chiang. After marriage, she and her husband came to the United States in November 1942 on a diplomatic mission. Eventually, in 1954, the couple decided to make America their home and settled in the greater New York area, where she taught English. She was a retired English teacher and later a participant at the Weston Center for Senior Activities.

Chiang is survived by her daughters, Charlene Chiang Hillman, the town’s social worker and Amber Chiang Luce; two grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews; and other descendants.
