Uddyback was born Nov. 20, 1932, in Roanoke, Va., daughter of Augustus and Realand (Ervin) Turner. She graduated from Roger Ludlow High School in Fairfield, Conn., and went on to receive a BS degree from Virginia Union and MS degrees from the University of Bridgeport, University of New Hampshire, and Springfield College. She worked as an educator for over 30 years in the Westport and Bridgeport school systems. She was a member of The Girlfriends, Inc., Les Treize, and a variety of other organizations.
Uddyback is survived by children, Linda (Robert) Daniels of Fremont, Calif., Wendell (Victoria) Uddyback of Alexandria, Va., Marion "Beth" (Darryl) Ragland of Lafayette, and Joseph (Janna) Uddyback of Charlotte, N.C.; brother, William (Dorothy) Hardy of Atlanta, Ga.; five grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Curtis O'Neil; and brother, Augustus (Gladys) Turner II.
Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4 at the Rehoboth Church of God in Christ, 72 Beardsley St., Bridgeport, CT 06607, Pastor Augustus D. Pullen will be officiating.
