Paul C. Taylor, Sr., 82, Longtime Westport Resident, Army Veteran

WESTPORT, Conn. - Paul C. Taylor, Sr., longtime Westport resident, died Monday, July 8. He was 82.

Taylor was born July 29, 1930, in Norwalk, son of Phillips B. Taylor and Hilda Walker. He graduated from Staples High School in 1948 and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was the longtime co-owner of the House of Wares in Weston Center. He was resident of the Compo Beach Improvement Association. He was a longtime member of the Assumption Church.

Taylor is survived by his children, Paul C. Taylor, Jr. (Karen) of Fairfield, Timothy L. Taylor (Megan) of Westport, Geryl A. Reid (Michael) of Stratford and Laureen C.T. Koch (Edward) of Reno, Nev.; brothers, Karl (Lois) Taylor of Southport, N.C., and Phillips (Patricia) Taylor of Norwalk; step-mother, Peggy Taylor; step-sister, Margaret Taylor; and 10 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Patricia C. Taylor; and sister, Anita Zvetchin.

Calling hours are Friday, July 12 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road, East, Westport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 13 at 10 a.m. meeting directly at Assumption Church, 98 Riverside Ave., Westport. Interment with full military honors will follow in Assumption Cemetery, 73 Greens Farms Road, Westport.
