Kathleen Kuhl, 62, Of Easton, Math Teacher

EASTON, Conn. – Kathleen Ellen Kepchar Kuhl of Easton died suddenly Nov. 21. She was 62.

Kuhl was an eighth-grade math teacher at Jockey Hollow Middle School in Monroe, Conn.

She was born Feb. 23, 1950, in Bridgeport to Ellen Lindner Kepchar and the late John Kepchar. She graduated from Harding High School in 1967 and Central Connecticut State College in 1971. Kuhl received a master’s degree from the University of Bridgeport in 1974. She was married to Robert Kuhl, who survives her.

A teacher for the Monroe Board of Education for more than 40 years, Kuhl served as vice president of the Monroe Education Association. She was an avid New York Yankees fan who loved to shop with her family, especially on Black Friday. She also enjoyed relaxing poolside in her backyard, taking cruises and visiting Disney World.

Kuhl is survived by two daughters, Amanda Kuhl, and her fiance, John Sarrubbo, of Stamford, and Alena Kuhl, of Easton; her mother; a sister, Nancy (Robert) Zukowski; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A requiem funeral service was held Wednesday at Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist in Bridgeport. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Monroe. Adzima Funeral Home handled arrangements.
