John Joseph Maglione, 88, Of Weston

WESTON, Conn. - John Joseph Maglione of Weston died Oct. 13. He was 88.

Maglione was born June 12, 1925, the Bronx, N.Y., to Joseph Maglione and Stella Havens. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II. Upon completion of service he graduated from St John's University and was a New York City Firefighter for over 30 years. In addition he was head of safety security at the Metropolitan Opera House and a substitute teacher in the Bronx public school system. The family moved to Weston in February 1968. He also volunteered at both Star House and Norwalk Hospital.

Maglione is survived by his children, Elizabeth Maglione of Weston, Diane (James) Fraser of Monroe, Joan (Robert) McCoy of Fairfield, Sue (Daniel) DiCairano of Shelton, John Maglione of Milford, Christopher (Noelle) Maglione of Westport, and James (Judith) Maglione of Weston; 14 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Joan Luber of Weston.

Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15 at Harding Funeral Home at 210 Post Road East, Westport. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16 at St. Francis of Assisi Church at 35 Norfield Road, Weston.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church or The Salvation Army.
