WESTON/NORWALK, Conn. - Jennie L. Patchen of Weston died Tuesday, Dec. 3. She was 97.
Patchen was born Dec. 11, 1915, in New Canaan. She was the daughter of Frank and Rose Caccavella of Stamford. She was elected the first selectwoman of the City of Norwalk, was a justice of the peace, worked in the office registrar, and was a homemaker.
Patchen is survived by her sons, Daniel F. Patchen Jr. of Fort Meyers, Fla., Robert J. Patchen (Donna) of Milford, and Richard C. Patchen (Kathy) of Weston; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and husband, Daniel F. Patchen Sr.
Calling hours are Friday, Dec. 6, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Dec. 7, at 10 a.m. in St Francis of Assisi Church, 35 Norfield Road, Weston. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, 25 Camp Ave., Darien.
