REDDING, Conn. - Jacqueline Marie Girard Sweeney of Redding died June 5. She was 81.
Sweeney was born Dec. 25, 1931, in Bridgeport, daughter of William and Jacqueline Girard, she was raised on French Street in the South Pine Creek area of Fairfield. She was a graduate of St. Vincent's Medical School in 1953.
Sweeney is survived by her daughter, Sharon Zavadjancik; sons, Gerard, Kevin, Francis, Terrance and Thomas Sweeney; 12 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Francis M. Sweeney, Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 10 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, 169 Black Rock Turnpike in Redding. Family and friends are invited to go directly to church. Interment will follow in Redding Ridge Cemetery in Redding.
Fairfield Funeral Home of Edmund W. Dougiello, 36 South Pine Creek Road are in charge of arrangements.
