George Revak, 79, Retired Easton Accountant

EASTON, Conn. – George L. Revak of Easton died Jan. 11 after a prolonged illness. He was 79.

Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of George and Katherine Haris Revak. He was married to Carol Pelesh Revak for 49 years.

He earned bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Bridgeport and worked as a public accountant for more than 50 years.

Revak also worked as an educator for the West Haven school system and an adjunct professor for the University of Bridgeport for more than 20 years.

He served as a consultant to Hotung Enterprises during the late 1970s. He raised his children in Fairfield, where he enjoyed many weekends cooking and sharing meals with family and friends.

Revak and his wife, Carol, enjoyed traveling; drives to Vermont and driving through Europe. He also reunited with his mother's family in Slovenia and Hungary, traveling there many times.

Revak is survived by his wife; four children, Sharon (Dr. Paul) Aiello, of Fairfield, Pamela (Dr. Stephen) Cartier Esq., of North Carolina, Linda (Brian) Holden, of Fairfield, and Katherine (Dr. Daniel) Sheehan, of South Carolina; a sister, Katherine Reval Lopez, of Fairfield; and five grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Fairfield. Burial will be at Mount Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport. Visitation is from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Larson Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Bridgeport Animal Shelter.
